From leaf to pouch
Every pack goes through the same five steps between the fields of Sojat and our packing room in Jhansi.
Henna leaves are harvested and dried in Sojat.
The dried leaf is ground and passed through 13 stages of filtering for a fine, even powder.
The powder travels to Jhansi in large packs.
Our team cloth-filters it again by hand to take out anything coarse.
Weighed into pouches or mixed into cone paste, with the batch and dates printed on every pack.
How to use
Henna rewards a little patience. Plan for an afternoon for the powder, or an hour or two for a cone touch-up.
The leaflet in your pouch has the full instructions. Follow it where anything differs from this page.
The cones contain no preservatives, so keeping them cold matters.
Use this as a starting point. Thick or curly hair can need up to a third more.
Do a patch test 48 hours before every use. Do a strand test first if your hair is bleached, permed, relaxed or chemically coloured. For hair only. Do not use on eyebrows or eyelashes. Keep out of reach of children.
Shade guide
Henna adds red to the colour you start with. It cannot lighten hair, so the lighter your hair, the brighter the result.
Greys take henna well
Bright copper on rinse day, settling to a deeper copper-red. A second application a few days later deepens it further.
Most visible change
Copper to light auburn, with a warm glow in daylight.
Warmth and shine
Rich auburn with red glints, and noticeably more shine.
Subtle tint
A red-brown sheen that shows most in sunlight. Great for gloss and conditioning.
Swatches are a guide. Your result depends on your hair's starting colour, its condition and how long you leave the henna on.

Yes. Grey and white hair take henna well. Expect bright copper on rinse day that deepens over about three days. A second application a few days later gives deeper coverage.
Not on its own. Henna gives red, copper and auburn tones. Brown and black results usually come from applying indigo after henna.
Pure henna is generally fine over previous colour, but results vary. Try it on a small strand first, especially if your hair is bleached, permed or relaxed.
